In the city traffic network, the network flow is dependent on space as well as on the coherence of time. To describe the characteristics of time-variables of traffic flow and mixed traffic, traffic planners should research not only on the route choice of static traffic, but also on the path selection and mode choice of dynamic traffic. The following aspects have been further studied in this thesis.Firstly, considering the actual situation of traffic in Chinese cities, the standard Bureau of Public Road (BPR) function is modified to well reflect the characteristic of mixed traffic in China.Secondly, based on models for mode split and assignment of static mixed traffic and the principle of dynamic user optimum, the model for mode split and dynamic user optimum traffic assignment is extended. Then it is proved that the model satisfies the principle of dynamic user optimum and the Logit function. and the rationality of the model is verified. Finally, based on the principle of dynamic system optimum, two models are proposed which respectively study on having no or an effect on each other between modes for mode split and dynamic system optimum traffic assignment. Then it is proved that the given models satisfy the principle of dynamic system optimum and the Logit function. The discrete models having been processed are solved by algorithms for static traffic models. The study on models for mode split and dynamic traffic assignment in this thesis enriches the dynamic traffic theory. It will provide theoretical bases for solving the traffic problem and it has great theory value as well as practical significance.
