Dynamic Traffic Assignment is the basis and core of Intelligent Transportation System (ITS) and Advanced Traveler Information System (ATIS).The application of DTA can make the traveler choose the path, travel start time and trip mode accurately. Traffic managers can properly regulate traffic flow according to the information effectively to avoid congestion and achieve the purpose of improving traffic conditions. So the research of DTA has important theoretical significance and application value. This article revolves the location of the VMS under the ATIS environment, DTA based on traffic bottlenecks, the synergy problem of DTA cooperate with Dynamic Traffic control (DTC) all has carried on the research and discussion, the main work as follows:(1) Aiming at the problem of the location of the VMS under the ATIS environment, a location selection model based on the guide information of effectiveness has established. It has analyzed the traveler’s response to traffic guide information based on the consideration of many factors such as traffic, economic restriction, the maximization benefit of traffic guide information of all VMS in the network of research area as the goal, a location selection model has established. In the case of small road network, According to the users of VMS type the effectiveness of the variable guide information was evaluated, it has shown it will be more suitable for actual VMS of layout.(2) Aiming at the problem of DTA based on traffic bottlenecks, the classical Vickrey model has improved. A DTA model is established under the UE in the condition of single path based on when the capacity of bottlenecks changed as linear and proposed the analytic methods. And on the basis analyzed its application in the ATIS and DTC. Research shown whether need to release the traffic information that events occur in traffic, depending on the traffic incident caused the traffic bottleneck capacity decline. In addition, the DTC method of dynamic UE adjusted the symmetry of the traffic demand in dynamic traffic network.(3)Aiming at the synergy problem of DTA cooperate with DTC, a system based on hierarchical optimization model has established. Combined with the characteristics of the wide range of DTA and DTC, a system based on hierarchical collaborative structure coordination model is established according to this structure as well as on the model of the hierarchical optimization algorithm; Determined the regional traffic state evaluation function is given, and according to this function to determine the timing of the start together. The road network simulation shows that model optimization algorithm can achieve the expected goal.
