With the development of China's economy, people's aesthetic requirements of the city ecosystem and landscape continuously improve. The arrangement of the garden plants with color , an important index of city construction, is directly related to the landscape function and city environment quality. Modern city landscape garden belongs to gardens, but it is different from the traditional garden in size, shape and concept. At present, the application of urban landscape plants hasn't given full play to the advantages of garden plants owing to all kinds of external conditions and human factors. The essential requirements of developing modern city landscape are to strengthen the local plant resources protection and to stablize plant community relations, combining with the landscape plant physiological ecology garden city, using plant advantages, based on the city landscape status and planning construction actual situation thorough investigation and analysis. On this basis, scientific introduction of exotic garden plant varieties, reasonable utilization of plant color can improve city garden plant diversity, reduce the city environmental pollution, enrich plant landscape and beautify our city environment.Based on the related research results at home and abroad and the investigation of the Baoji city environmental conditions and application of landscape plants, the article mainly tackles such aspects as the plant resources, plant color characteristics and color theory, the city garden plant color matching rules and principles, the Baoji city environmental conditions and existing plant resources as well as application condition, the color of physical effects, symbol of color, color psychology association, and color on the psychological and physiological effects, color theory, color plant classification and classification standards and garden plant color generation and influencing factors in several aspects study on landscape plants, so as to clarify color expression means and configuration principle, the plant color in the city landscape application.City landscape planning, design and construction should pay attention to the following aspects: 1.
