Silicone oil fan clutch is a new kind of transmission device using viscous shear force of silicone oil to transfer torque, which is widely used in engine cooling systems. It not only reduces the engine's fuel consumption, but also reduces the fan noise and the engine emissions when the engine starts. Silicone oil fan clutch, which using viscous shear force of silicone oil to carryover moment, clutch and fan cannot mesh effectively in the high temperature conditions. Therefore, Study on the Thermal Analysis of Silicon Oil Fan Clutch has important practical significance.In this paper, we analysis the structure, working principle medium of the silicone oil fan clutch, and choose one section typical silicone oil fan clutch as the research object. Introducing three kinds of heat emission mode, through studying the heat generating heat emission of the silicon oil fan clutch. Establish a theoretical foundation for the simulation computational analysis subsequently.Through automatic solving program of the Gambit and Fluent software, build the clutch and the wind tunnel numerical simulation model under the environment of a finite element analysis. Through the direct coupling calculating of the thermal field and flow field, realize one-time solution of convection heat transfer process, it is concluded that the silicone oil fan clutch surface temperature distribution and the speed and the pressure distribution of flow field.After the bench test of the silicone oil fan clutch performance, proving that the finite element simulation model establish of the silicone oil fan clutch in this paper is reasonable. At the last of this paper, qualitative analysis the number of radiating rib, the clutch inside surface convex platform height, rotate speed, Entrance wind speed and ambient temperature which affected thermal performance of the silicone oil fan clutch.In this paper, we use coupling method of thermal field and flow field to complete the simulation calculation. These simulation results are of great significance of silicone oil fan clutch performance.
