With the rapid development of national economy, the demand for electrical energy is increasingly expanding, keeping stability and continuity of supplying electrical energy in power plant is the key to maintain economy development, and how to guarantee safety and economy in operational process is the question which the engineers in power plant must face. The article firstly introduces national and foreign development situation for power plant boiler, technical features of super-critical boiler which will be dominant in the future, and simply lists two typical boiler styles and their main design parameters. It points out the purpose and significance of combustion adjustment from overall degree, analyzes factors of effecting combustion, and takes two common adjustment examples. After burning Yitai coal which is with low melting point, easy to slag, a 350MW sub-critical boiler of Huaneng Dalian Power plant appears scene actual problems, which are as follows, slagging is serious, be full load is difficult and drawing fan output is insufficient. Aiming at these problems above, this article presents relevant research. On the basis of equipment characteristics and operational features, theoretically unifying the influence of various essential factors on boiler combustion, the paper preliminary analyzes actual problems, and formulates experiment plan through revolving fineness and air leakage two important factors. Focusing on reducing fineness and increasing air leakage of dry-type slag extractor, optimal adjustment experiment purposely solves actual problems, and unit's operation makes obvious improvement after adjustment. By means of analyzing experimental data and various reasons leading to actual operation problems about boiler, real reasons are clear and the conclusion is made, on the other hand the relevant optimal operational adjustment measures and practical suggestions are put forward according to adjustment experience, which are in favor of resolve similar problems and make some directional effects on the safe and stable operation of the boilers in the future.
