| Naval ships, as well as commercial ships, are exposed to more risks than before with the development of IR-guided threats. IR Suppress System (IRSS) is created to reduce or even eliminate the infrared signatures of exhaust system of the ship.Materials about ejectors are widely gathered, and then the papers particularly on exhaust ejector for gas turbine are selected. Based on reading papers on exhaust ejectors for gas turbine, the development of exhaust ejector for gas turbine both in China and abroad is described from the viewpoint of ejector structure. Meanwhile, professional ejector designer and producer is introduced:Davis Engineering Incorporation in Canada, which designs and produces IRSS both for ships and for helicopters. After studying the successful experiences on exhaust ejectors by scholars abroad, two innovations are introduced:a new structure of nozzle and multi-stage diffuser. A new type of exhaust ejector for marine gas turbine is designed. After simplifying the ejector model, numerical simulation is applied to forecast the characteristics of both the single-stage ejector and the multi-stage ejector, and their structure is optimized based on the results of numerical simulation. This paper makes an experiment plan for new ejector. The experiment is to measure the injection coefficient and total pressure loss of the ejector under different operating conditions, and to simulate the implications to the ejector by different installation space on the ship. |
