With the growing of national economy of China, and the developing of urban construction, the problem of urban traffic congestion is increasingly prominent and serious, the citizen's requirements of development of urban public transport are constantly increasing, especially, the citizen has a great demand and the growing of requirements of development for the efficient and rapid urban rail transit. In recent years, China is in a period of large-scale construction of urban rail transit projects, especially, Guangzhou' s urban rail transit construction is in the forefront of the country. Today's urban rail transit construction is mainly based on underground structure engineering project, and most of the underground structure engineering projects are shallow underground structural engineering project; the construction methods of shallow underground structural engineering project include:open-cut method (cover excavation method), shield method, shallow mining method. The underground structure engineering projects (especially for the shallow underground structural engineering projects) are irreversible, uncertainty and lag, a practical construction method of choice will determine the success of the whole underground structure engineering project. In this paper, it use the example of shallow mining method at the XiaoBei Station, TaoJin station, OuZhuang station, Interval TaoJin-OuZhuang, and the comparison of open-cut method (cover excavation method), shield method, shallow mining method, to describe that the shallow mining method is applicability and feasibility in the construction of the urban rail transit.
