| Vernacular architecture and its culture play an important role respectively in traditional construction and traditional culture. It is the achievement created by human in resisting and using nature after a long time. And the vernacular architecture in different regions always reflect strong locality. However, it is known that the power of economic strength determines the authority of decision in the cultural conflict, which is because of the modern architecture in China brought by integration with the global economy. There is time when we can see that the modern architecture expands from cities in China to traditional folk architecture; There is time when we find out that the architect abroad use our traditions in the new architecture; And there is time when our new architecture is not based on our traditions. The traditional architecture is getting ruined. While we are discussing, they are turning into history instead of museums. Or they were made into bricks being new residence under new policy. People are doubting why our vernacular architecture lose locality, why our traditional architecture is compelled to leave the stage of history and why the protected traditional residence only exists at the moment we find them. To answer these questions, we need to tease the development history of traditional residence and make a research on the development track while giving enough free developing space. The thesis takes traditional residence of Lijiang Naxi Nationality as key point and starts with its development history. Moreover, the article makes research on its changing factor to achieve both protection and development.The thesis is divided into 3 partsPart 1 (Chapter 1 and Chapter 2) introduces the knowledge, background, and significance, as well as research framework and method. This chapter summarizes the current study implemented in China and foreign countries on residence of Lijiang Naxi Nationality. In addition, it use some helpful parts to tease the theoretical context, which is somehow the foundation of the deepen study.With the major method of comparison, Part 2 (Chapter 3, Chapter 4 and Chapter 5) uses methods including vertical comparison of Naxi residence itself and crosswise comparison with other residence. It study the wisdom system of the development of residence of Lijiang Naxi Nationality while demonstrating the important role that wisdom system plays in keeping the special characters of residence.Part 3 (Chapter 6) study the effects from different factors on the development of residence of Lijiang Naxi Nationality. And it makes research on how it integrates different elements of era with its self development which keep the residence developing with energy. |
