Proton exchange membrane fuel cell (PEMFC) is a kind of green energy converting device, because of the advantages of high power density, high energy conversion rate, no pollution, no noise, rapid start-up at low temperature, zero emission, and so on, its applications have widely spread values, a profound developing potential and application prospect.First of all, this paper researches and analyses the 300W proton exchange membrane fuel cell, and gets PEMFC effects on the performances of the temperature, pressure and load factors. Second, in order to make the fuel cell be stable efficient and work safe, it designs fuel cell controller based on the PIC microcontroller, which can effectively integrate PEMFC power generation system, make hydrogen supply, air supply, cooling, analog quantities monitoring and display subsystems work better, and improve the overall output performance of PEMFC. Thirdly, for the performance requirements of PEMFC power generation system, the controller needs to realize many functions, so it adopted 40 needles of PIC16F877A as the master, which realized display, parameter setting, temperature monitoring, power monitoring and alarm functions through the outer circuit design. Fourthly, in temperature monitoring module, it introduced PWM speed control technology and PID control algorithm for the fan speed control of PEMFC, which can always maintain the best working condition, and ensure the output of fuel cell high-performance. At last, through experiment and simulation methods, it proves that the PEMFC controller can efficiently realize various functions, and the control parameters can achieve the expected value.
