Pumped storage power station accident drills and training can improve the station staff and operating personnel on incidents analysis and judgment ability, improving incident response capabilities of the operators should be significant, with the exception of the actual system for a small amount of exercise and training, Simulation Support System is widely used. Application of Simulation Support System can be used for the training of production operation and maintenance personnel and new entrants, make them understand the principles of unit operation, work flow and fault identification and treatment. At the same time, through the research on the process of simulated accident, plans for incident handling and anti-accident have been developed, incident handling emergency response mechanism has been established, thereby greatly improving the technical level of related personnel and emergency response capacity, to prevent accidents.Currently simulation support system for the majority of hydropower station is based on common station, and the research and development for pumped storage power station simulation support system has just started. How to establish the unique simulation support system which features of pumped storage power line is an important topic of current research.Based on a thorough research of pumped storage power stations, and puts forward the STAR-90 accident exercises and training system design scheme. In the system platform, analyze the characteristics and advantages of the STAR-90 system, through hardware and software design, and finally completed the development of the simulation support system. In the model, build the simulation model for the pumped storage power station on the electrical connections, reversible water machine and the control subsystem etc. The system uses computer platform and network environment, provides with the actual power stations operating environment, completely reappear the computer monitor system of all the surveillance, control function and some of the operating control functions of local control panel, simulate the operating state of the generators by real-time simulation, the operating conditions can be easily set up, changed and repeated, can show a variety of scene situations of normal, abnormal and accident, through the establishment of the accident exercises library and setting accident fault scene of each exercise scenario exercise library project, enhance the operator of the accident analysis and assessment skills and improve the actual incident response capacity, so realize training and equipment operation analysis function.The results show that the development of simulation system design scheme in this subject basically achieved the full simulation on the reversible type pump turbines of the pumped storage power station system and power generation motor units and its auxiliary equipment system, primary and secondary electrical system in the factory, achieve normal operation of the conversion between different working conditions of power generation motor units ,conversion unit group control and AGC control function, so this article has high practical value.Test results show that the subject development simulation system design scheme basically achieved the pumped-storage power station system of the reversible type pump turbines and power generation motor units and auxiliary equipment system, factory in electrical and quadratic system, realize the whole simulation conditions between the unit normal operation and conversion unit group control, AGC control function, high practical value.
