Road maintenance concept early of our country is mainly paying attention to repair and looking down on prevention. Facing the different kinds of pavement early destruction, for example the rut, the elapse, the oil, the nets crack, the chap, loose, drop, and the vertical and horizontal crack, maintenance method is mainly passive maintenance. Do not implement heavy repair engineering, it is until the destruction of the road that affect traffic, namely to chastening maintenance primarily. In this way although it can obtain new performance of road, also affect traffic greatly, have higher cost, and waste materials have a great effect on the environment pollution. Along with the continuous development and progress of the pavement maintenance technology in new materials, new technology, new equipment, and this kind of method has been difficult to reflect the characteristics and requirements of modern pavement maintenance and repair, and also adapt the development of the maintenance technology. Preventive maintenance is that choosing preventive maintenance treatment technology specially, when the early disease of the pavement is slight. Through this kind of maintenance, it can guarantee to do the early treatment of diseases, save general maintenance costs on the basis of the high use performance.According to the characteristics of the preventive maintenance itself and the form of our country road disease early, the study analyzed the applicability of the preventive maintenance, proposed the method of Cost benefit analysis, which confirm the best preventive maintenance time, proposed the method of many cycle decision, which confirm the best strategy of the preventive maintenance. And the study evaluated the influence of preventive maintenance. Finally compiled the relevant procedures to select the best preventive maintenance time and strategy. So the conclusion is helpful to preventive maintenance engineering.
