The axle is the main part to bear the weight and transfer the power of the vehicle; it is the meeting point of a large number of complex forces. Traditionally, static analysis and corresponding strength theory is used to test the bear capability of the axle housing and prevent from breaking. But when the vehicle is running, the vibration exists. According to the experience and the vibration theory, the crash of the axle housing is aroused by the pulse of the non-plainness road and the complex forces from the different hard work condition. This dynamic stress is always several times greater than the static stress. So it is important to find out the main dynamic stress region when the vehicle is properly running on several kinds of road and establish a rule for the safety design.FEA and EMA are combined to analyze the axle housing. Static analysis, modal analysis, modal test and spectrum analysis are used on the axle housing. Finally, with the response spectrums of the five typical roads, the high dynamic stress region and spectrum feature are presented.The innovation of this paper is: first make a pre-analysis of the axle housing with the ANSYS and MODENT, find out the optimum driving points, optimum response points, and optimum suspending points, these will increase the credibility of the test results. Second, take the pre-tightening load and the deadweight of the vehicle into consideration in modal analysis, it make the test results more conformity with practical situation. |
