Building shading and natural ventilation are the two of traditional and efficient energy saving technologies that are the key tactics of realizing energy saving and indoor environment improved. However, building exterior shading may block or guide the air inlet or outlet, which would result in positive or negative effects on natural ventilation.For optimizing the building shading and natural ventilation, and make up the blank research field, this dissertation selected study building model and boundary conditions in view of investigation on some residential building in Guangzhou, then discussed the actual influence caused by shading by using experimental measure and numerical simulation. Finally, sum up the rule of natural ventilation subjected to shading. The whole research work could be divided into 3 parts:1. Firstly, introduced the five shading categories, indicated the factors to outside window shading and indoor natural ventilation. Then, realize the application and the common forms of outside window shading, in the local residential building, meanwhile selected the representative building as the research model.2. Tested the two rooms' indoor wind environment under the condition of different outside shading through a natural ventilation experiment. Comparing the work area wind and window area velocity of two rooms, the concluded the rule of indoor ventilation subjected to shading.3. Utilizing PHOENICS software to simulate the building indoor ventilation compared three situations such as horizontal sunshade, comprehensive sunshade and no sunshade to analyze the variation at different sunshade situation at different building orientation, so as to expose the actual influence to indoor ventilation result from sunshade. Moreover, discussed the factors of wind velocity, building height and room position through numerical simulation, briefly analyzed the indoor ventilation status of selected building model with sunshades.
