High-speed pump is a special centrifugal pump. This type of pump use an open impeller,compared with low specific speed centrifugal pump, it has advantages such as compact structure,strong currency,reliable operation,small axial force,long lifetime,plat capacity-head curve. Ithas been widely used in aerospace, petrochemical, chemical, pharmaceutical and other industries.High-speed pump use hydrodynamic journal bearing to support high speed shaft. Journal bearinghas the advantages of stable and reliable operation, low noise, the advantages of reducing frictionand wear. Lubricating oil film can also absorb a certain degree of vibration, that's very useful forthe stability and running accuracy of the high speed shaft. The paper take the high speed pumpjournal bearing as the research object, study on the static and dynamic characteristics of journalbearing. The purpose is to provide theoretical references for the selection and optimization ofjournal bearing. The main content of the paper are as followsThe paper uses radial basis function collocation method to solve Reynolds equation. It usesstandard Multiquadrics functions to interpolate. Compose a Matlab program to calculate theresults, and compare its results with classic conclusion, two results are very consistent. Resultsdemonstrat the correctness of method and programming.The paper uses radial basis function collocation method to solve Reynolds equation. Acquirethe dimensionless oil film pressure, bearing capacity, attitude angle, friction, side leakage flow,and analysis the eccentricity and width to diameter ratio of their effects. Then using thisalgorithm to calculate the static characteristics of high speed pump journal bearing, check theload capacity, and find it meet.the requirements. This algorithm can be used for the design of thenew journal bearing.Study on using radial basis function collocation method to solve the pressure perturbationReynolds equations. We can acquire the dimensionless perturbation pressure and dimensionlessdynamic coefficients of journal bearing. Then analyze the influence rules of structure parametersof journal bearing to the stiffness coefficients and damping coefficients of journal bearing.Calculate pressure distribution of journal bearing and the dynamic characteristic coefficientsunder different eccentricity ratios. Finally, analysis the instability mechanism of the oil film andcalculated the instability speed of the high-speed rotor under different eccentricity ratios.
