Lubrication system is an important system for an engine, whose function is continuously put enough amount of clean oil with appropriate viscosity to lubricate components of friction surfaces, by forming the lube film between the friction surfaces. This is the key measure to protect moving parts from damaged, and as liquid friction reducing friction resistance, good lubricating is also important to reduce friction power loss, and to reduce parts wearing rate to improve reliability and durability of the engine.In China, three–wheeler motorcycle is now widely used in various fields, especially in rural transportation and production market for its cheaper price, very low routine cost and feasibility to use. According to its unique applications, special engines should be used, however, because the real market is that almost all three-wheelers are using gasoline engines originally developed for two-wheeler motorcycles. Furthermore the users are usually lack of necessary training. So overload is common, which causes higher heat load and oil consumption rate, and also causes engine failure rate high. Therefore, reducing oil temperature and oil consumption, guarantee engine lubrication effect is an urgent topic.In this paper, experiments and analysis are carried out, concerning the oil temperature, oil consumption and cooling system of a three-wheeler motorcycle engine. A CG200 type three-wheeler motorcycle engine, for example, was studied by digital simulation analysis of its cooling water system and improvement was made. Lube oil temperature and oil consumption comparative experiments show that the improved design is successful, and oil temperature and oil consumption is decreased obviously. |
