Ship ballast system is an important part of the ship, its main functions are: According to the operation of ship, implement ballast and deballast operations, for the following purposes:adjusting the ship draft,displacement,the hull horizontal and longitudinal balance and keeping metacentric height; Reducing hull deformation and vibration; preventing biological invasion.Coupled with the different kinds, usages and tons of the ship, the position, size and numbers of ballast tank differ greatly. More importantly, ship ballast system consists of pumps,valves,tanks and other attachments, which makes them unique in the design of logical control. In order to provide designers with a multi-functional platform for test, simulation and study of ship ballast system, it carries a research and application significance to design independent ship ballast system simulation software.For the purpose of ballast water system dynamic simulation and research, this paper established the whole ship ballast water system simulation model. Specifically, it established simulation models including pipe network and basic elements, based on engineering fluid mechanics and using power band graph way. With the help of the third party COM component of Visual Graph, I developed the ballast water system dynamic simulation and monitoring software by Visual C#. The simulation software modularized elements such as pump, valve, tank, and built concrete topology structure through some operations such as editing. On this basis, operator can conduct simulation operations such as"ballast"and"deballast", also monitor statuses such as level, open and close condition, alarm, etc.Based on the design of simulation platform design of LNG tanker cargo control system and the study of simulation Design of offshore drilling platform's integrated control system, this paper contributes as follows:A.Research has been made based on the constitution and function of the ship ballast system. Specifically, this paper focuses on the analysis of the following things:·From engineering fluid mechanics angle to ballast system static analysis and dynamic analysis.·Study the physical characteristics,flow characteristics,pressure loss of the ship ballast system basic modules, which have been established by power band graph way.·Study the control logic of pump,valve and so on , also gives examples on typical pump/valve control logic.B. Work has been done about the tool and environment of the software designs. Specifically, requirements on the real-time of the program have been examined. In this paper I choose Visual C#, which is quite popular currently. Related study and research have also been done with regard to the third party COM component of Visual Graph, as used in the design. The ways to realize its function and process have been argued in details in this paper.C. This paper gives introduction to the realization process of simulation software. First, according to the requirements of the object-oriented programming,the ship ballast system basic modules graphic library has been formed with COM component of Visual Graph. Then it briefs the drawing of the simulation principle diagram and methods to establish models. Finally, instructions have been given on the operation, simulation and realization of the software as a whole.D. Assessment and conclusion of the software are written in this paper. To begin with, it analyses the problem, which is addressed by the software, including the efficiency and the evaluation conclusion. What's more, further improvement about the design of the program has been put forward, which is helpful for us to look forward as well as summarize the current experience.
