With the development of garment industry in China, demand for electronic tracking machine increases rapidly, research on high-performance, reliable electronic tracking machine becomes a research focus. So far, scholars have done lots of research on control system of servo motor, step motor, and implemented a high performance system for each motor respectively, but in terms of high-performance electronic tracking machine, in order to sew a special pattern, it was required not only to drive servo motor, but also to complete the control of X-axis and Y-axis step motor control at the same time. In this paper, according to the particular demand of electrical tracking machine, control algorithm for step motor and servo motor is studied respectively, then a special structure was used to realize the coordinated control; through specific hardware and software system designed by ourselves, a digital electrical tracking control system was achieved.Firstly, with the analysis of mechanical structure and system requirements in electrical tracking machine, a introduce of structure in this machine was subjected, and working principles of servo motor and step motor in the tracking machine was described. Then a special solution for electrical tracking machine was put forward, which includes the control of servo motor and step motor, human-computer interactions and so on.For the electrical tracking control system, control of servo motor and step motor and coordination of servo motor and step motor are biggest obstacles; in this paper, a special algorithm for the subdivision control of step motor and rotor flux oriented vector control of servo motor is presented; besides, a scheme for the coordinated control of step and servo motor is also proposed; consequently, control algorithm for the whole system was completed.Moreover, according to control algorithm, hardware and software design for electrical tracking control system were fulfilled: TMS32LF2406, as the core of the system, completed control of the spindle servo motor and human-computer interaction function; XC9572, as the core of step control, completed the control of motor control; Later, through interaction of IO port, TMS32LF2406 and XC9572 was combined to work together.Finally, through the mechanical set of electrical tracking machine, all the modules, including power system, step motor and servo motor, are tested; thereafter, through the intelligent fast pulse generator and pulse capacitive coupling folder, anti-jamming characteristics of electrical tracking control system were tested, and the special sewing patterns were also implemented in this machines; all of this proved its high performance and indicates that it will have a wonderful performance in industry.
