Asphalt pavement caused early damage usually in the pavement built above semi-rigid base. Flexible base is playing a more and more important action. Asphalt treated base (for short ATB), different from semi-rigid base which is often used in our country, belongs to the category of flexible base. ATB has great shearing strength and good capability of fatigue resistance, and can control and reduce reflecting cracks. Using ATB is economical and can bring fine pavement performances.In virtue of the particularity of structure layer, the sample molding and design ways are different from the one for surface layer of mixes. Through parallel test of Marshall hit and circumrotate press molding, traditional Marshall design method and mechanics index method, brings forward the molding and design method adapting to different types of ATB. Considering the difficulty of constructing thick layer mixture, the paper advances the construction control technology for a single thick ATB mixture layer. Synthesizing the advantages and disadvantages of supple pavement design methods of inside and outside, the research finds a new structure design model for ATB asphalt: pavement fitting our country qualifications. |
