Rotary drilling rig, a kind of construction equipment in pile foundation industry, which have high-tech and high integration of mechanics, electrics and hydraulic, is playing an important role in the project construction. Many companies in our country have the ability of research and manufacture rotary drilling rig independently, and improve its key components continuously in practice. However, these efforts have stuck in the improvement level of rotary drilling rig. There is no breakthrough in its whole structure, which limits the improvement of rotary drilling rig's property to some extent. Rodless rotary drilling rig changed the working way of rotary drilling rig, and created a new situation for its development. This paper aiming at the characteristics of the rodless rotary drilling rig, designed and produced a monitoring system for its operate. The introduction of monitoring system enhanced the working accuracy and efficiency of rodless rotary drilling rig, reduced workload of operator. It was significant to the improvement of rotary drilling rig's performance.Firstly, this paper analyzed the differences of structure and working principle between existing rotary drilling rig and rodless rotary drilling rig, and then designed an overall monitoring program for rodless rotary drilling rig according to its unique working mode. The monitoring content included man-machine interaction, angle automatically adjustment of drilling mast, drill depth display of drilling rig, turning round automatically alignment of chassis, etc. According to the monitoring content, I selected the models of the sensors and its installation method, designed the method of human-computer interaction, and provided strong conditions for the operator to understand the vertical of drilling mast, drilling depth, rotation angle and so on.Secondly, this paper finished the detail design of hardware and software on the basis of overall design. In the hardware design aspects, this paper used the modular design approach. According to the characteristics of detect signals and output signals, it built analog input module, digital input module, LCD modules, touch screen control module and analog output module. In the software design aspects, it designed a program flow chart, by which monitoring content displayed on the touch screen. And took simulation to the hardware and software of A/D convert, encoder anti-vibration circuit, microcontroller internal counter, 8253, DAC0832, etc.Designed and made a rodless rotary drilling rig model and hydraulic system. All part of the monitoring system was tested. The experimental result showed that the monitoring system achieved the aim of monitoring.
