Wind power has the main characteristics: 1, short-term Stochastic Volatility in the small-scale area; 2. the instability of wind energy density; 3. the running range limits on different types of wind turbine. 4, Limited ability to regulate the reactive power. Meanwhile, because of distinctive geological structure and wind resource distribution in Inner Mongolia, also because wind power-rich areas are generally away from load center, requiring long distance to transmit, the means of large-scale, high-voltage, and long distance should be used to admit or transmit. All kinds of power plants in Inner Mongolia power grid would out step itself load. The Inner Mongolia wind power station is always unilateral when connected with HUABEI power grid, which is the extra-large export power network.Currently,there is no comprehensive relay configuration and setting for large-scale wind power access to grid.However,the practical engineering need technical suppor about relay.To sum up, Especially, all kinds of fans access to grid, Their characteristics are significantly different from thermal power generating.. When the accident of the grid was occurred, if the relay configuration and setting was unreasonable,then the large-scale wind turbine off-grid will affect security and stability of the grid.In this paper,author analyz in detai typical characteristics of acceptance of wind power Mongolia power grid. When there is the grid accident , relay will be how to respond,wind turbin will be how to run. Starting from the typical accident case studies the typical characteristics and general law that lead to large-scale wind turbine off-grid power in Inner Mongolia. The model base of double-fed wind power system will be established fon the RTDS (real-time digital simulation system); On this basis, the existing primary relay protection devices will be test in the closed-loop simulation testing system. We will research and develop a new the relay configuration and setting to prevent large-scale wind power off-grid in Inner Mongolia power grid,This study developed a set of relay configuration and setting to prevent large-scale wind power off-grid in Inner Mongolia power grid.
