The conventional hypersonic wind tunnel means Mach number is 5~8, which uses purity air heated by heater, and long working time. The conventional hypersonic wind tunnel develops relatively early, and its technology is comparative mature. The primary characteristics, such as the air it uses must be heated, the pressure and density of the air are comparative high, the test time is relatively long, the stability of the air is fine and the measure method and test result are trustiness. So, this kind of wind tunnel has correspond consequence at the test research of interiorly and overseas at present. Generally speaking, it can simulate a majority of fly condition of Mach number under 10. So, it applies widely in the test research of pneumatic speciality of hypersonic aerocraft.With the development of hypersonic aerocraft, the flight velocity has been heightened continuously, which needs general heated hypersonic wind tunnel has higher simulate ability. Its development direction is to design more high power heater, increase the tunnel's dimension, increase the tunnel's test Mach number and Reynolds number, thereby heighten the simulate ability of the wind tunnel test.The heater is an important component of the hypersonic wind tunnel. A certain extent it has relate to the experiment bound and efficiency of the hypersonic wind tunnel. Many scholars have embarked on comprehensive theoretic research of heater for a long time. This paper uses for reference advanced technique and experience of interiorly and overseas, researches and analyses the application of hypersonic wind tunnel heater. The research work is outspreaded surround the design of the heater.This paper designs a suit of plate storage heater of some large-scale hypersonic wind tunnel on the basis of experimentation technology development requirement and technology level at present time. On the basis of total capability demand of wind tunnel and the fact instance of the project, this paper chooses heater type, detailedly introduces the selection and calculation of interrelated pneumatic parameter of the storage heater, calculate method and rudimental process of heater pneumatic outline size which includes chunnel inside diameter and storage element length, and confirms correlative physical kind parameter, calculation method of heat exchange coefficient, which help to collectivity structure design of heater. This paper adopts Ansys software to calculate stress intensity of heater, according as heat exchange theory validates heat insulation layer if which can satisfy requirement. It analyzes pyrogenation and radiative characteristic of the heater according to heat exchange coefficient and differential eguation, presents calculate graph of correlation design point by making use of integral expressions, analyses temperature distributing of pyrogenation process by adopting Fluent software, validates the correctness of the engineering design method.The paper presents three-dimensional structure figures and valuable calculate schematics and results of correlated parts of storage heater, convenient for reference while engineering design and test debug. A set of integrated methods of storage heater design method of hypersonic wind tunnel, it will be beneficial to experience of storage heater, provides technology sustain for large-scale ground research equipment research of hypersonic aerocraft.
