Along with the fast development of automotive parts industry, it turns out to be assert and technology centered. The company is one of the most famous car lock manufacturers and makes the decision to improve its productivity in order to fulfill its target. But the downtime of the product line obstacles this target seriously. Therefore,it is the time to improve the product line's reliability and cut down the downtime. Reliability centered maintenance is the core theory of the modern maintenance. It focuses on the maintenance strategy decision made based on the failure mode and effect. Compared with the traditional time based maintenance strategy, RCM can improve the efficiency and cut down the cost significantly. So the world is interested in this theory more and more,it will become the right direction of the upgrade for the traditional maintenance. So this paper tries to apply this theory to the practical maintenance for the automotive part industry.This paper focus on how to setup the maintenance management model based on the RCM theory. By analyzing the historical maintenance record and according to the practical situation,the welding machine turns out to be the key equipment for the product line. Using the PFMEA and FAT technology,get the scientific maintenance strategy and make the preventive maintenance. Then compared with the old maintenance strategy,to prove the RCM theory is useful and essential for the automotive part industry.
