As a kind of circuit breakers, the relay is widely used in telecommunication, automatic control, remote control, telemetry, power electronic devices and mechatronics. It is one of the most important control devices, and its long-term reliability will directly affect the reliability of the system. While in the past the relay is installed on the test bench to test its reliability, there are many different operating parameters such as the open distance, contact pressure, working environment, breaking velocity; It is difficult to achieve the comparison test which contact performance of a single in the same working conditions, so, it is important to do research on the relay contacts simulation test device which can easily adjust the parameters of the relay.In this thesis, the research on relay's simulation test device which can test the electrical properties of the relay home and abroad is summarized, the relay simulation test device, which can achieve the single performance comparison test in the same working condition is designed. Overall, the size of the elements, self-contact fixture, the solenoid part, the absorption and reaction are designed; Theoretical calculation and the commissioning of the contacts simulation test device are completed before experiment.We have finished experiments of contact materials electrical properties under air and vacuum by using the contact simulation test device and vacuum analog device. The experimental data is recorded and presented by acquisition system based on LabVIEW virtual instrument in the laboratory. The analytic results show that:in air, under low voltage and low current the electrical properties of self-made Hust-NanoCuCr50 and self-made Hust-CuCr50 are almost same, besides both of them are worse than AgNi10.However, in vacuum, under low voltage and low current the electrical properties of the self-made Hust-NanoCuCr50 are worse than self-made Hust-CuCr50, those are embodied in arcing time, the mass loss of contact and arc erosion areas. After carrying out the experiment of the relay's arcing time under different pressure, we propose the simulation experiments under different pressure by using the contact simulation test device.
