Along with the development of hydropower, the hydroelectric generator has became a high-parameter, high-capacity and complex system. Its security plays an important role in the development of social economic. As a critical equipment of hydropower plants, the heating and cooling system of hydroelectric generator is strongly influential to the operation condition of hydroelectric generator. Therefore, the condition-based maintenance of the system is quite helpful to improve both the stability of hydroelectric generator and the economic benefits of hydropower plants. Thus, combined with the project named"Yangtze Hydropower Optimal Maintenance System", association analysis was used to find out the relationship between the temperature and other factors, which are related to the heating and cooling system of hydroelectric generator. Based on the application of Web, the evaluation and analysis of the system has been put into practice.At the beginning, the principle of heating and cooling system was explained. The main heat source, the heating and cooling process and the principal agent of the hydroelectric generator cooling system were introduced in detail. The research methods of heating and cooling system were summaried. The evaluation and diagnosis of generator were put forward.The data interface of operation analysis system was designed to get the data for analysis. According to the practical experience, the heat stability conditions of upper guide bearing and rotor were confirmed, and the relationship among the parameters were found out. Apart from this, the influence of the stability and the combined working condition were involved. At the end, to achieve the goal of evaluating and diagnosising the performance of the generator's heating and cooling system, the analysis methods were put into practice based on Web. It provided a reference platform and decision support for fault diagnosis. What's more, it provided fundamental base for condition-based maintenance.
