At present, rural buildings are wide distribution and numerous in our country. The foundation diseases of existing rural buildings are common occurance due to various reasons, and the foundation diseases may cause the quality problem of the upper structure, influence the normal use of buildings, endanger the safety of the structure. Therefore, the research on foundation reinforcement of existing rural building is of far reaching importance.Firstly, the paper takes a research on the foundation of rural building in China, and proposes reinforce methods about fly ash-lime pile and lime-soil pile reinforce foundation by locating both sides of strip footing according to the actual situation of the rural survey in country, analyze the material property and strengthening mechanism of fly ash-lime pile and lime-soil pile. Secondly, using similarity theory as guidance ,the paper designs the laboratory model test on foundation reinforcement by locating fly ash-lime pile and lime-soil pile at both side of strip footing in order to study the reinforcement mechanism and reinforcement effect of the reinforcement method, researches foundation bearing capacity, deformation and failure mode, p-s curve, the magnitude and distribution discipline of the foundation stress before and after reinforcement, analyzes the load-bearing mechanism, strengthening mechanism and reinforcement effect of the strengthening technology.The test results indicate that this type of reinforcement can effectively improve the foundation bearing capacity, and compared with the former reinforcement deformation and failure mode, the magnitude and distribution discipline of the foundation stress all have changed. The main reinforcement mechanism is that the pile bodies which have the high shear strength and the soil around pile which is gelatinous and set hard resist the lateral displacement of soil underneath the footing and form lateral restraint, strengthen the integrity of this part of soil. The upper load is mainly assumed jointly by that part of soil and the pile bodies, thus, it can reduce subsidence and increase capacity. The results of this study provide the technical basis for the design and construction of foundation reinforcement of existing rural building by fly ash-lime pile and lime-soil pile and promote the popularization and application of the reinforcement technique in rural area.
