The common existing form of the highway is semi-rigid asphalt pavement. However, for the semi-rigid asphalt pavement base, if under the traffic loads and the environmental factors, it will be easy to produce reflection crack in the asphalt surface. And premature fracture damage of asphalt pavement produces following. Based on the situation, the ANSYS finite element analysis software is used in this paper. I create static elastic-plastic model for the graded gravel base pavement, and analyze the mechanical variation of the gradation asphalt pavement structure of gravel which under different parameters.Through a survey of actual traffic volume, I find the evolution at different overload rate and different thickness and modulus of the asphalt pavement layer in the gravel base course pavement structural: under the lower overloaded, through studying the displacement and stress changes, I obtained graded gravel base pavement flexural stress is far less than semi-rigid base pavement and give a reasonable recommendation when the pavement under heavy load the changes of the tensile stress and shear stress in the structure; under the overload condition, the elastic strain of asphalt pavement increases with a linear as the load growth.Based on fracture mechanics, I analyze graded crushed rock as a semi-rigid base of the transition layer. I find the variation as the changing at the bottom of the stress intensity factor parameters of each layer. And further demonstrate its inhibition to the reflective cracking, and give the reasonable proposals to choose the thickness. Based on the analysis of domestic and overseas, asphalt pavement design method is determined which the asphalt layer in the strain and soil base for the top surface compressive strain of the controlling are the indexes, and macadam road base structure in the asphalt pavement under heavy traffic is demonstrated.
