Transmission tower is a kind of towering large space structure, it may havelarge extent vibration under the combined effect of wire load, wind load and andother factors, it may even occur instability and collapse seriously. So we analysisand study the vibration characteristics of transmission tower to improve the tower'smechanical properties and stability, which has important practical significance forpromoting the development of China's power industry. This article takes the linetransmission tower which is common in the transmission system as the researchobject to analysis the vibration characteristics of transmission tower under the windload.Simplify the tower in the mechanical model of variable cross-section cantileveraccording to the structural characteristics of the line transmission tower and the therole of tower foundation. Establish the forced vibration differential equation withdamping of the tapered beam, taking the damping of the tower componentconnections and suffered wind load into account.Analysis the established differential equation, and then discrete the establishedcontinuum model into single degree of freedom model according to Galerkindiscretization method on the basis of the first mode function of the variablecross-section cantilever, so obtaining the ordinary differential equations about themodal coordinates by partial differential equations about the displacement.Solve the ordinary differential equation obtained by discretization using theaverage, get steady state solution of the system, draw the amplitude-frequencycharacteristic curve when the system occurs primary resonance, discuss the impactof the systemphysical parameters such as damping, stiffness and excitationamplitude on the system vibration characteristics. Analysis the stability of thesystem steady solution according to Lyapunov stability theory, obtaining thestability region and unstable region of the steady solution.Analysis the bifurcation equation of the system according to singularity theory,obtain the transition sets of the the system selecting two different sets of unfoldingparameters, and then draw the bifurcation diagram of the system in differentmaintained domains. Discuss the impact of the physical parameters of on thedynamics of the system.
