The overhead working truck used in special environment is a device in order to meet the need that one of nation's significant projects. It requires that the device come through a very complex environment, in which the space is narrow and full of obstacles on the first working floor. As soon as the device comes to the designated place, this special environment requires that the design of the overhead working truck not only has to meet the requirements on strength, stiffness and stability, but also raises other harsh requirements. Such as, it must have to take actions to placing much weight on the first working floor.This paper have finished the design work of the total's plans: used the finite analysis method to analyze the structure; used kinematics and dynamics software to make simulation of the actuator according to the requirements of passable, accessibility and weighty.According to the design specifications ,the characters of the device and the special requirements of the environment ,the total's plan was made: the chassis system made use of adjustable legs; the sliding platform was installed on the chassis system ,the rotating platform wan installed on the sliding platform ;made use of mixed leveling mechanism and reduce the weight by sliding weight .At last , the design of the virtual prototyping and the processing drawings were finished by the software of Pro/E,Solid Works and AutoCAD .The FEA software ANSYS is used to make static and modal analysis on the overhead working truck in the worst working condition. And the structure's strength, stiffness and stability are checked, which show that the overhead working truck meets the requirements in all aspects. The actuator of the overhead working truck whose first ten natural frequencies and corresponding model shapes are attained, which show that the actuator's stiffness in all directions meet the requirements.The equivalent structure method is used to make kinematics analysis on the actuator, the kinematics model of which is also made. The actuator's dynamics and kinematics simulation are took place by the widely used kinematics and dynamics software ADAMS, numbers of corresponding feature curves are got as a result. Then analyze all the feature curves in detail. The results show that the actuator moves smoothly and it could meet the needs of moving to the required spatial location.
