| Increasing investment in higher education and large-scale university enrollment over the past decade to promote the rapid development of domestic universities teaching architecture. Xi'an area as a city of the dense universities, its teaching building not only represents the northwest campus construction level, but also reflects some construction status and problems of countrywide university. Many defects in traditional distributed teaching building have been difficult to adapt to new era scientific development trends and requirements of higher education personnel training mode. The holistic teaching building group of compact layout, composite function and resource sharing arises at the historic moment. As a result of the space form features in the holistic teaching building group, the building interior forms many multivocal space with diverse functions, tolerance and open. It has fully made up the ordinary teaching space insufficiency of holistic teaching building group, while satisfying the transport link function, provides elegant and convenient space environment for student's extracurricular academic activities, communication and relaxation, and updates flexibly according to the demand, becomes the sustainable development vigor space in the holistic teaching building group.The paper firstly summarized the background, features and present situations of the appearance of domestic holistic teaching building group in university, according to multivocal space's related research conclusions, studied the concepts, use functions and elements of multivocal space of holistic teaching building group in university. Secondly according to service conditions of representative multivocal space of holistic teaching building group in Xi'an area university, carried out comprehensive and the thorough investigation and analysis, and combined organic update case of multivocal space of traditional distributed teaching building to contrast study, discovered the problems of multivocal space of holistic teaching building group in Xi'an area university. Through further studies on student's behavior psychology, analysed student's extracurricular activities in multivocal spaces, combining the dynamic function views and the complex function view of multivocal space, proposed the construction request and strategy of multivocal space of holistic teaching building group in university.
