This thesis firstly overviews concepts, features and the development of cable-stayed-continuous rigid frame composite bridges briefly, and introduces the basic theories of static and dynamic analysis comprehensively. Based on the design scheme of the Xijiang Bridge in Guangdong province, a cable-stayed continuous rigid frame composite bridge, a combined finite element model based on beam element for the bridge was established by MIDAS/CIVIL2010, a large scale finite element analysis software.Through this process, the thesis analyzes comprehensively the static and dynamic characteristics of the bridge. The influence of the time-dependent effect on the structural behaviors under the construction stages and the finished stage are analyzed. The free vibration periods and modes of the bridge are calculated by using a subspace iteration method. Seismic response characteristic of the bridge is studied also, by using response spectrum analysis method. At last, some conclusions are obtained from the above analysis. And it is hoped that these studies here may be helpful for further research in this area.
