The landform of west of China is mainly composed of mountainous region. Its geological condition is very complex and geological disasters continually. Disasters caused by High Slope Engineering have prodigious damages to the high-speed railways. The whole line will out of service if any place is broken or blocked by the geological disasters, and will influence the operation, reduce the income. Therefore, for the sake of safety, effectively management and prediction the High Slope Engineering along the highway is really necessary. Aslo it's important to practice emergency rescue timely and effective when geological hazards occurred. Such task is one of the greatest problems of management and construction of montane high-sweed railway in the west of China.GIS is a tool used by individuals and organizations, schools, governments, and businesses seeking innovative ways to solve their problems. A geographic information system or GIS allows you to bring all types of data together based on the geographic and location component of the data. But unlike a static paper map, GIS can display many layers of information that is useful to you.Firstly, the high-speed railway management information system for high slope based on GIS is built. Secondly, The overall design, including the database organizing, function, architecture and user interface design, of the high slope GIS are performed based on the following work:First, the field investigation of the geological disasters the expressway. Second, collecting various kinds of relative data, such as the field records, words, pictures, videos. Third, analyzing the requirements of the high slope GIS. Finally, The high slope GIS is developed by the ESRI ArcGIS and Microsoft Visual C++. This GIS provides query, modify, edit interfaces to the infomation. To give a visual view of the slope, fault, and entire railway and its adjacent terrain. It also provides function of computing the stability properties of high slope in this system.
