In-depth analysis of traveling wave-based analysis of single-ended and double-side traveling wave analysis of high voltage transmission line traveling wave based on the basic principles, the paper assessed the single-ended traveling wave fault location method has the advantages of high accuracy, but there algorithm immature, auto ranging poor reliability problems. Double Ended Fault Location method has the advantage of automatic distance high reliability, but there are subject to a given line length and time synchronization error system error and the stability was flawed.In the high-voltage transmission line traveling wave technique based on in-depth analysis, this paper, based on wavelet transform modulus maxima of the single-ended and double-end combination of traveling wave programs:the first use of wavelet modulus maxima of the double side traveling wave fault location principle on the initial test, then using wavelet modulus maxima of the single-ended wave theory of the initial test results are verified through manual waveform analysis results on the distance correction.To achieve accurate fault location for high-voltage lines, this paper pass through the conventional current transformer fault transient traveling wave signal change method, and without CPU intervention of high-speed data acquisition solutions to wave signal acquisition and collection problem-based global positioning system (GPS) time synchronization solution to precision time synchronization problem, using wavelet modulus maxima method to solve wave Chung line to the exact moment of Calibration.In this paper, wavelet transform modulus maxima based on a combination of distance measurement methods, simulation analysis, the results show that the method can take advantage of single-ended and double-ended fault location methods of the strengths and avoid a single wave with a single-ended Range or single traveling wave with a two-terminal reliability of the existing shortcomings ranging.The paper designed combination of 220 kV high voltage power grid structure of traveling wave fault location framework, including the main station, sub station, software and hardware implementations. Running results show that the proposed design of the system structure and distance programs can be more accurate and rapid positioning the point of failure, effective raise the high voltage power system reliability.
