As the country has increased the intensity of infrastructure and accelerated the urbanization recently, the demand for construction machinery is growing. Compared with foreign advanced products, transmission parts of the domestic engineering machinery are overall 20 years behind in the technical performance and reliability. Therefore, in order to reduce the dependence on foreign products, we must develop new products with independent intellectual property rights by ourselves. In this paper, provincial key scientific research project "Given axis electro-hydraulic shift transmission loader development" was given as the basis, DANA32000 transmission was the research object, by studying the principle and structural features of the transmission, we used a three-dimensional software SolidWorks to establish solid models of the transmission box, shafts, and involute gears through the "Reverse Engineering". Those models were simplified by the requirements of finite element analysis, and then were carried out in Simulation.Box, shaft and involute gear are the main components in transmission, the strengh anlysis of which is always the focus in the study of the transmission. In this paper, the transmission box and a file gears were analyzed when the torque converter outputs the maximum torque. The most dangerous sections and the worst load lines of the involute helical gears were introduced, and accordingly the worst load line of was calculated and identified in the solid model. The optimal form of gear load was determined by calculation, that is to use face load instead of a line load. Finally, the finite element model was solved in Simulation, the contours of stress and deformation distribution were given and compared to the damage in their actual work process. Modal analysis was given to the major components of the transmission, like the box and axes, the dynamic characteristics including the natural frequencies and vibration modes were caculated in Simulation, and their impact to the transmission was analyzed. All these provide a reliable theoretical basis to the design of the new domestic transmission.
