The Study On Roadside Greenbelt Recreation Ground Design In The Northern River Area Of Changde

With the living standard of citizens has been increasingly improved, recreation, as a consequence, is becoming a basic requirement of people's life with its functions, also, becoming one of the four major functions of a city. Due to its large capacity and great coverage as well as its accessibility, roadside greenbelt in city has become one of the main recreational places for city residents.The author of this paper, targeted at the roadside greenbelt of a recreational space located in the northern river area of Changde City, attempts to conduct an in-depth analysis and investigation for the current situation of its construction and implementation. The following characteristics and rules have been summarized accordingly:①senior citizen accounts for the majority of people enjoying this facility of roadside greenbelt;②activity time is frequently concentrated at afternoon or at the nightfall with various intentions which. mainly in respect of leisure and recreation;③most citizens have reflected that activity facilities are so limited that the recreation spaces are in scarcity of interesting and funs.On the basis of current circumstance of the roadside greenbelt of recreational spaces in northern river area of Changde, some specific countermeasures and suggestions have been presented as follows:①The coverage of greenbelt should be defined in the light of the surrounding environment, with a serving radius controlled around 300m in densely populated areas.②Not only the elegance of appearance but also the capability to induct are required in respect of boundary treatment. The entrance space, additionally, should be to indicative to some extent and, be furnished with some necessary space to stay in.③The grasp of scale comprises the physical space scale and the mental scale. Space encircling, therefore, should be based on specific requirements, implementing different elements to build a proper space. ④Vertical design is consisted of flat ground, tableland, as well as sinking site. Having suggested that unless appropriate, the implementation of the treatment of sinking site is not recommended.⑤Plant arrangement need to refer to the requirement of recreational space to select suitable plant varieties to match.⑥Static recreational space, on the other hand, need to take account of the need of people's activity so as to reasonably lay out the rest and activity facilities and, furthermore, to put forward a rational design for a roadside greenbelt assisting physical healthiness.⑦To design a roadside greenbelt which is full of regional features of Changde, that is, to build a bicycle-specific exercise lane alongside sidewalk.The recreation space of urban roadside greenbelt needs to start with the requirements of people and, to highlight its diversification as well as its functions in ecological services, so as to create an elegant, comfortable and functions well-equipped outdoor recreation space.
