Nowadays, regular treatment technology is widely used in the city waterworks in China. The treatment process is helpful to remove the clay colloid and pathogenic bacteria but not to the organic compounds. Therefore, advanced technology, especially ozone-biological active carbon treatment is called for the purification of drinking water.Aimed at the particular problems of the application of ozone-biological active carbon treatment upper Yangtze River, it is necessary to make sure the reasonable dosing mode and the amount of ozone dosing quantity. The main work and results obtained are as follows:①With the orthogonal test, the TOC, AOC, Br- and CODMn, nitrate and bromate have been studied. According to the analysis of the three adjustable variable and the F value testing of variance analysis, the ozone dosing quantity is affirmed to be the most important influence factor and the dosing quantity of PAM and PAC are subordinate.②BAC can achieve the best effect to remove turbidity and ammonia nitrogen when the ozone dosing quantity is 1.5mg/L.③BAC can achieve the best effect to remove organic compounds when the ozone dosing quantity is between 1.2 and 1.5 mg/L.④Less bromate would be produced and the content of formaldehyde would less than 50μg/L when the ozone dosing quantity is between 1.2 and 1.5 mg/L.⑤The amount of freshwater algae would be maintained stable and the concentration of AOC would be adjusted to be less than 50μg/L with the biological active carbon treatment.Aimed at the water source upper Yangtze river, the optimization of ozone-biological active carbon treatment has been studied. The result can provide reference for the particular treatment process.
