Comparing with other sanding methods for wood door product, this paper focuses on using strip brush wheel for sanding the surface of various species of wood to optimum the sanding process parameters. Measured the surface roughness by probe method, the purpose of this paper was to determine the reasonable sanding machine parameters of shaped product surface according to the code of wood door quested quality of its surface.According to Taguchi method, the parameters of sanding-including mesh of the sandpaper, the rotation speed of the flsp sander, the feed speed, depth of exposure, the times of sanding-were designed for optimization. The results of mean surface roughness and signal to noise ratio (S/N) were obtained by experiment, which were analyzed by SPSS software. In order to obtain to optimum of sanding parameters, the significance between the value of the sanding parameters and the quality of roughness was studied. In accordance with the analyze results, the optimal parameter group was experimented.The conclusions of this study are presented here:1. It is possible that the surface structure of wood affects the significance of every sanding process parameter. The belt mesh and theoretical contact length are affected the surface quality of red oak and golden better. The feed rate and sanding times are affected the roughness of fine texture wood, such as Cherry and Maple.2. Based on Taguchi method, the four kinds of wood sanding optimal combination of process parameters are as follows:red oak: the mesh of the sandpaper: 180#, the rotation speed of the flsp sander1200r/min, the feed speed12m/min, depth of exposure15mm, the times of sanding 6 seconds .golden better: the mesh of the sandpaper 180#, the rotation speed of the flsp sander1200r/min, the feed speed 12m/min, depth of exposure10mm, the times of sanding 6 seconds .Cherry: the mesh of the sandpaper 240#, the rotation speed of the flsp sander900r/min, the feed speed 12m/min, depth of exposure10mm, the times of sanding 2 seconds . Maple: the mesh of the sandpaper 240#, the rotation speed of the flsp sander1200r/min, the feed speed 8m/min, depth of exposure 15mm, the times of sanding 6 seconds .3. The author produces difference profiled workpiece in 21mm altitude difference by selecting Quercus spp. Under the condition of the mesh of the sandpaper 180#,the rotation speed of the flsp sander 1200r/min, the feed speed 12m/min, the times of sanding 6 seconds,and relativing to the surface's depth of exposure of difference profiled workpiece is 10mm, 15mm, 20mm. Comparing to same depth of exposure,With the increase of mesh and Sisal'length, the margin of surface roughometer between difference profiled workpiece's steps surface level will reduce.
