Power supply played an important part in national production and daily life to provide energy, promote economic and make social harmony. Integrated automation of substation made the electrical secondary equipment combined and optimal design through the technology of advanced computer,the technology of modern electronic the technology of communication technology and the technology of signal processing. It realized the automatic monitoring,measurement,automatic control and microcomputer protection, as well as communicate with administrative center of the substation. About 2000, integrated automation of system was applied in many substations with different voltage grade in Hei Longjiang province, there were many problems exposed in the process of restoration, such as: how to solve the input and output of the substation and how to consider the long-term trends of the substation effectively; because of the application of integrated automation, system operator obtained more and more information significantly. Whether the information could simply and effectively reflect the operation of the subsation, actually reduce the intensity of work, coordination at all levels of substations, control stations and scheduling relationships. With the development of science and technology, the rational optimization and design shouuld consider not only the local economic situation but also the future trend, clearly and reasonably to solve the practical engineering problems,could help to give full play and simplify the second part of the hardware configuration, simplify the second part of the wiring, reduce installation﹑operation and maintenance, reduce the total cost, improve operation and management level of automation, could help to improve economic performance, ensure the safe operation of power grid, could help to implementation of the reform, it also helped the grid to develop toward the standardization.This paper analysied the research in domestic and abroad substations about integrated automation, it also analysied the application of integrated automation in 66kV substations in Hei Longjiang province. Meanwhile the paper deeply studied the protection principle and algorithm of the integrated automation system. By improving the algorithm, we could obtain the compensation coefficient and use the Matlab to do the simulation. The data obtained can better reflect the reality of input signal characteristics by improving the algorithm to obtain compensation coefficient.On the foundation of the 66kV technical renovation engineering of GuXiang substation and design code, according to the demand of load﹑reliability and economy of the substation, hierarchical and distributed system structure was used, the paper carried on the functional design of integrated automation system, in order to realize the purpose of unattended and improve the production efficiency. Reliability was an important indicator of power quality, power failture may make greate loss of the national economy, production and life. The function analysis of existing automatic switch device shows that for the two main transformer substations of wiring method, when one of them powers off, the power load can be transferred to another main transformer. But for the multiple transformers substation,when a power blackout, the only way is to bring load to the near transformer and the functions of other transformers are not performed. Powerful calculating function of embedded system was used to realize the acquisition and operation of electric current or voltage in this dissertation.An alternate power auto-cast device was designed by improving the three main transformer main wiring mod. When one main transformer is at fault, load can be transferred to other main transformers more evenly. This achieved the function of automatic switching and load distribution.It ensured the reliability of power supply. The design of integrated automation system of substation and alternate power auto-cast device has been successfully put into operation. The results showed that the system has advantages of flexible operation and high reliability.
