Although masonry structure has been used since the beginning of time and has been widely applied in the world, it has been continually developing and innovating because of its advantage. With the development of construction technology and the theory of masonry structure, the structure has been promoted in a wide range in the 50's last century. In the time, people built many public buildings of masonry structure such as schools and hospitals in China. Because of the approach of useful life and the improvement of specification, a large number of early and recent masonry structures need seismic strengthening and modification. The method that Masonry wall is strengthened with concrete splint is efficient and practical.In this paper, we research the seismic performance of the masonry wall strengthened with concrete splint and these performances include shear capacity, stiffness, ductility and energy performance of the wall. Specific contents are as follow:1. Through the low-cycle repeated loads experiment, the paper obtain different results about walls of different mortar strength and thickness of concrete splint. We analysis seismic performance of the walls which have different mortar strength and thickness of concrete splint. Then, we study the strength of the wall's stiffness, ductility and energy performance and it can provide a reference for the designer.2. Through the low-cycle repeated loads experiment about masonry wall strengthened with concrete splint and shear wall with same thickness, we actively explore the feasibility that the calculate of masonry wall strengthened with concrete splint can use the theory of shear wall.3. Through the low-cycle repeated loads experiment about masonry wall strengthened with single-side concrete splint of 60mm thickness, we research the seismic performance of the masonry wall strengthened with the single-side concrete splint.4. On the basis of the experiment, we use the experiment data to obtain the physical parameters of the numerical analysis and set up the finite element model of masonry wall strengthened with concrete splint. Then, we conduct a systematic analysis about the wall used the finite element model. This can make up for the limit of experiment and improve the research method.At last, we raised the issue to be studied later according to this research.
