Tire is one of the main components of vehicle, which has a close relationship with the performance of the vehicle. On the basis of researching mechanical properties, the cases of shrink, assembly, inflation and static loading are calculated and the change of the deformation and stress is analyzed in the course with the application of finite element method and ABAQUS software. To consider the impact of tire factors on vehicle handing and stability, the thesis simulates and analyzes the impact of tire structure, size, lateral stiffness, rolling speed and loading on a SUV vehicle with the use of ADAMS/Car software. Based on the nonlinear lateral property, front wheel steering and four-wheel steering are analyzed respectively.Vehicle handing and stability is good or bad depending not only on the structural characteristics, but also on the driver and the road traffic environment. Considering on the nonlinear of tire and driver, the driver-vehicle-road closed-loop system of nonlinear four-wheel-steering is established. Using numerical calculation, the thesis analyzes the stability of the closed-loop system and how the tire lateral stiffness and the driver behavior have the influence on the system. The theoretical and numerical calculation provides a reference for the tire design, performance evaluation and vehicle handing and stability.
