There are a large number of existing buildings needing reinforcement, in the meanwhile, these buildings tend tomake the foundation consolidated at first. At present, plenty of methods are widely used in this process while each one has its range of application. Grouting technique, which is fit for various complex geological conditions in China, is a rising method of ground treatement of late years. However, we should admit that each approach of grouting has its limitation.This thesis, based on the practical engineering situation in henan, puts forward a new method of buildings reinforcement-horizontal compaction grouting. Considering previous grouting theories and construction experience and through the grouting test, research work was launched on horizontal compaction grouting's reinforcement mechanism, effect and its parameters.(1)Analyse and study the concept of the grouting, grouting theory and technology, and also regard them as the theoretical basisi of pressing infusing test to guide practical engineering.(2)The choice of reinforcing scheme. According to practical engineering conditions, the author puts forward a grouting method suitable for this project Horizontal Compaction Grouting method.The method can only be used in outdoor constructions, and will not affect the normal indoor use.(3)Horizontal Compaction Grouting test. Considering the practical engineering, Horizontal Compaction Grouting test was carried out, based on past experience. The contents of this experiment mainly focused on:grouting effect scope, pressure and terminal standards, hole sealing and the grouting construction and process etc.(4)Assessment of the reinforcement. By using plate loading test and light penetration test, foundation bearing capacity will be identified, and at the same time, comparing the bearing capacity of the clay before and after the experiment, the author can draw a conclusion that level pressing infusing slurry consolidation effect is good and the capacity of the soil after reinforcement can be 2.3 times the strength of that before.(5)Practical design and construction of the projec.By utilizing the conclusion before, start the construction. Buildings subsidence was track-observed and at last the author arrived at a conclusion that this method worked out well in practical engeering.Depending on all above studies, horizontal compaction grouting can not only be applied to reinforcing buildings, but also provides areference for later similar reinforcement projects.
