With the development of scientific technology, the railway transportation technology has also seen great development both at home and abroad. During the period from 1997 to 2007, the Chinese main line railway has gone through 6 great increments of speed, which explains that the Chinese technology of main line railway is service proven. As one of the top ten critical technologies in railway transport, the door system also sees development in terms of its technological innovation. For the moment, the sliding plug door type has been widely used for the door system of main line railway train at home and abroad. By entering the era of high speed train, the tightness of the door system becomes one of its key indices. It makes great sense to make a research on the sealing technology of the sliding plug door.This paper aims at summarizing the sealing modes that should be used on the sliding plug door of main line by making a detailed analysis of the tightness of the sliding plug door, as well as proposing optimized solution according to the special sealing requirement of the sliding plug door for high speed train. Firstly, this paper analyzes the factors which have an impact on the tightness of the sliding plug door for main line; secondly, this paper proposes the solutions in accordance with the influencing factors, especially optimizes the rigidity of the sliding plug door and the design sealing modes; finally, this paper validates the feasibility of the proposal via test.
