As the main primary energy source in China, coal will be remained for a long time in the future. Since the traditional coal utilization technology has two remarkable fate,low efficiency and heavy pollution, it is necessary to develop a new technology with high efficiency and low pollution emission. Zero Emission Coal(ZEC) utilization system is a kind of advanced clean coal power technology by which the power efficiency reaches70%and the pollution emission is nearly zero. The research of coal hydrogasification is one of the key processes of the ZEC system.The current state of other similar ZEC system worked over by some institutes was briefly introduced and summarized. The contents in this paper focus on three aspects:(1) Created the Chemical equilibrium thermodynamics model of hydrogasification use ASPENPLUS. the following conclusions are obtained by calculating:in the hydrogasification H/Coal mass ratio chosen as0.3is more appropriate; The optimum reaction temperature is800℃; The reaction pressure selected on3MPa is more appropriate.(2)Design and built an Drop-tube reaction system under high pressure. Ensure that the experimental device is safe, reliable operation by testing.(3) Partial experiment of hydrogasification in the entrained-flow reaction system under high pressure, the experimental device is safe and reliable on high pressure conditions for the hydrogenation of coal gasification experiment and accurate experimental data can be obtained.
