As the main primary energy source in China, coal will be remained for a long time in the future. Since the traditional coal utilization technology has two remarkable fate defaults, i.e., low efficiency and heavy pollutions, it is necessary to develop a new technology with high efficiency and low pollution emission. Zero Emission Coal (ZEC) utilization system is a kind of advanced clean coal power technology by which the power efficiency reaches 70% and the pollution emission is nearly zero. The research of coal hydrogasification characteristics is very important because the coal hydrogasification is one of the key processes of the ZEC system.The current state of other similar ZEC system worked over by some institutes was briefly introduced and summarized. The contents in this paper focus on three aspects: (1) hydrogasification experiment in the high pressure Thermal Gravimetric Analyzer (HP-TGA);(2) designed and built high pressure fixed-bed reactor system;(3)partial hydrogenation of coal gasification experiment.based on the high pressure fix-bed reactor system built.The experiments of coal hydrogasification in the high pressure and high temperature conditions had been carried out in TGA. Through analyzing those factors which may affect the coal hydrogasification results, some operation experiences have been obtained.High pressure fix-bed reactor system had been designed and built, by which hydrogasification experiment can be carried out at the conditions of pressure of 0-1OMPa and temperature of 0-1200℃.This paper contains parts of the experiment station research, design and construction details. The process of the coal hydrogasfication experiment was discussed. The structures had been carefully confirmed to meet the requirements of the experiment.Based on the completed reactor system,5 groups of different pressures, different temperatures of coal hydrogasification experiments were done and in the experiment some valuable data was obtained. Theoretical analysis of experimental data was carried out and the subsequent experiments were also discussed.
