Pre-shipment inspection is the last quality checking processus before merchandises are exported to the buyer's country. After ordering a number of articles, the buyer lets a third party control the ordered goods before they are dispatched to him. Normally an independent inspection company is assigned with the task of the PSI, as it is in the interest of the buyer that somebody not connected with the deal in any way verifies the amount and quality. This way the buyer makes sure, he gets the goods he paid for. Normally, it is the supplyer who contact the third party for the details of the inspection. But as the foreign buyer are demanding more and more, many buyers from aborad start to creat their own inspction process as well as their own quality standards to make sure that the quality meets their requirements.By describing the procedures of PSI that I have designed during my internship in the Company of CMIG in France, including the packing inspection, trademarks and logos inspection, weight and dimensions checking, surface defects inspection, etc, othis paper shows the details of the PSI requirements demanded by French importers. To choose a right sampling method is also an important aspect for pre-shipment inspection. We use AQL inspection. This is an international method which can checking if a product, manufactured by mass manufaction, can meets a special quality requirement. This paper describes the way to compare different sampling methods and how to choose one method which is both easy and suitable for the special requirements of protective gloves. In the end, this paper describes how to realize this inspection procedure by a computer program, which greatly simplified the inspection practically. It also inspire people to solve practical problems by crossdisciplinary methods. The optimization and unifying of the pre-shipment inspection process has solved a practical problem for CMIG Company. This project will be carried out by the year of 2012. The paper is also valuable for Chinese protective glove exporters.
