Chlorophenols organic compounds, with great varieties, are typical contaminants causing water to be carcinogenic, inducing malformation and mutation. The degradation and elimination of Chlorophenols are always catching researcher's attention, and activated carbon adsorption method for removal of chlorophenols substances has been the hot topic of research. Microwave, due to its fast heating speed, high selectivity and other advantages, is widely used in activated carbon regeneration process.2,4,6-TCP is researched in this paper, and the dynamic characteristics of activated carbon modified by Fe and Mn to adsorb 2,4,6-TCP and microwave regeneration of the adsorptive saturated activated carbon are studied. The results are as follows:1,Use activated carbon modified by Fe and Mn to treat the water with low concentration of 2,4,6-TCP, the dynamic adsorption effect is good. The experimental data are well fitted with Yoon-Nelson model, therefore, Yoon-Nelson model can well predict the break characteristics of 2,4,6-TCP solution on modified activated carbon column.2,When flow is larger, breakthrough curve is more steep, and adsorption breakthrough point reaches in earlier time. Use Yoon-Nelson model to simulate the breakthrough curves under different flow rates, the calculation results agree well with the experimental results, and the In [Ci/C0-Ci] and t have maintained a good linear relationship, the correlation coefficient R2 is above 0.9. The effects of varying flows on Yoon-Nelson model parameters are:T value reduces with the increase of flow, and the K'value increases; K'and flow is linear, while T, t1, t2 to flow are the relation of power function respectively.3,It is found that microwave power, microwave irradiation time, activated carbon loading amount will influence on regeneration.The microwave regeneration orthogonal experiment shows that, the status of the microwave regeneration factors in turn are:the microwave power, microwave irradiation time, activated carbon loading amount. Microwave regeneration's optimal conditions are:microwave power 450w, microwave irradiation time 6min, activated carbon loading capacity of 3g.4,Through the six repeated adsorption/regeneration processes, the activated carbon's adsorption performance is compared before and after regeneration. The capacity of one time regenerated activated carbon to adsorb 2,4,6-TCP is better than the original carbon's. The adsorption capacity of three and six times regeneration activated carbon is reduced somewhat, but still has a good adsorption effect.5,Activated carbon after microwave regeneration has not only good adsorption properties, but also small carbon loss rate. Regeneration for six times, activated carbon's total loss rate is 5.45%, which is very low.Therefore,microwave regeneration of activated carbon is technologically and economically feasible.
