This thesis adopts the process of sulfur forming of Puguang gas field in the Sinopec for the controlled object and the process which is used is called the Devco Wet granulation process. As in the original control program, the system can not adjust the operation of pumps and fans in real time according to changes in the load of liquid sulfur, thus consuming too much energy.For deficiency of the original control program of the sulfur forming, the paper design an improved control program,which is much energy saving compared to the original control program.In order to achieve the purpose of improved control program, the main task is to build the system model, that is the mathematical model of the flow of cooling water and ends temperature of cooler and also the total power of the pump and the cooling fan.This paper is based on the analysis of controlled object properties of granulation tower, pump and the fan,and through the system identification method to establish the model of the system and the applying of the method of nonlinear regression analysis,we can calculate the coefficient model, and finally fit out the surface figure of the system model.According to the heat formula of liquid sulfur which is solidified into a solid in the granulation tower,we can calculate the heat of liquid sulfur which is released in real time.Then we can calculate the flow of the cooling water and the water temperature of grain towers at both ends according to heat balance equation in this condition.On the basis of the obtained system model,the minimum total power of the fans and pumps and the cooling water flow and temperature of the ends of cooler which corresponds to minimum power can be calculated in real time in each condition through the optimization program of Matlab.Finally, delivering calculated value to the PLC through the OPC protocol,and through the appropriate control procedures of fans and pumps,both flow of the cooling water and ends temperature of the cooler will be controlled in the appropriate setting.
