In complex industrial process, there are always the features of strongly coupled, non-liner, time varying and long time delay and sorts of restrictive condition, which dynamic behavior will change in accordance with factors of variety in operation condition and so on. Optimization operation of facility always should be at bound of definite condition of operating variable, So that ideal controller should keep unit operation be adjacent to definite condition as possible as and without violating it, in order to obtain the best economic performance. But the traditional PID control strategy and some complex control system is not able to satisfy enterprise needs of improvement product quality and increase economic profit. In order to solve process control problem of strongly time varying, strongly coupled, non—liner and long time delay etc, some complex high-level control algorithm(viz.Advanced Control Tech)come forth with development of control theory and computer performance. RMPCT is among these outstanding control technologies. RMPCT, developed by Honeywell, is one of control algorithm based on multivariable input and output, dynamic model, multi-step prediction, multi-step control, receding optimization, and with some optimization function.The article give brief introduction of basic concept and control algorithm of RMPCT, illustrate detail design and application of RMPCT in the Aromatics Unit. Through application of Advanced Process control, it is able to make facility operation stable, improve products quality and greatly increase economic profit of the Unit. The technique is worth to popularize and has best future of economy. |
