Water is the natural resources that human largely relies upon, all living things are inseparable from the water. Along with industrialization advancement speeding up, the sewage increases continuously and the environmental pollution question is day by day serious. At present, all countries pay more attention to the prevention and control of water pollution. As the key equipment of wastewater treatment process, the aeration equipment is important for water treatment engineering, and gets special attention by Water treatment field all over the world.The paper introduced a new increasing oxygen aeration equipment-the screw aeration equipment. The aeration properties of equipment were studied by CFD simulation, the clear water aeration test and sewage aeration test. Gas-liquid two-phase flow in screw aeration equipment was simulated by using the CFD software FLUENT with Mixture model of multi-phase models, RNGκ-εturbulent model, and SIMPLEC algorithm. The two-phase flow in the screw aeration equipment was investigated in pressure, velocity, and gas void distribution of the flow field. Clear water aeration test is the important research method for studying the property of the aeration equipment. The result of the clear water aeration test shows that the aeration equipment has good aeration properties, good oxygenation capacity, and also has high oxygen utilization efficiency. The result of sewage aeration test shows that the screw aeration equipment can provide sufficient oxygen for wastewater treatment process, and ensure normal metabolism activity of microorganism.
