The low-cost international competitive advantage of our garment processing enterprises is gradually lost, facing higher labor costs, domestic resources& environment & energy constraints, and RMB appreciation and other exterior conditions changing. The processing garment enterprises profit space is being more and more small. But, the quality requirements of the garment consumers are being more and more high. In order to keep competitive advantage in the fierce market competition, the processing garment enterprises have to accept high quality, low cost challenges. Quality improvement and cost control become the enterprise's urgent needs. Research on the failure cost source based on the perspective of diagnosis, to find the weak link of quality cost management and provide scientific basis for quality improvement and cost control of the processing garment enterprise.Diagnostic research on failure cost source of processing garment enterprises based on the large study about clothing production, quality management, quality diagnosis. And on the many kinds of data analysis methods like the hierarchical analytical method, fuzzy comprehensive evaluation method. And on many kinds of quality management tools like Pareto Diagram, Cause and Effect Diagram. The main content summarized by the following four parts:Part one: Research on the interrelated references and theories. On the basis of interrelated theories, this paper reviews and analyses the two main keywords involved: failure cost source and diagnostic research systematically. Then the paper also makes definition and analysis range of the diagnosis on failure cost source of processing garment enterprises.Part two: Study on the factors of affecting failure costs. First of all, explain quality have the characteristics of mutation according to the production process wave theory. Secondly, according to quality management system, this paper gets 3 aspects and 15factors, and this will be the factors for diagnostic indexes. Finally, according to the quality cost management theory and garment production theory, discusses the details factors of influencing quality failure costs.Part three: Diagnostic research on failure cost source. With X processing garment enterprise as an example, apply the diagnosis model to make empirical research. Diagnosis results and quality improvement suggestion were further verified, to explain the diagnosis model is correct and operability.This paper basing on the perspective of diagnosis to discuss the method of quality improvement is to expand the research of quality cost management of the processing garment enterprises and also to be one kind of comprehensive new perspective. Research results provide an effective method for the processing garment enterprises to find quality management weaknesses and reduce the quality costs and point out the direction of quality improvement.
