Study On Appearance Performance Of Seamless Knitting Fabric Made Of Triangle-hollow Nylon

Triangle-hollow nylon is a new type of differential fiber developed by the project to which this subject belongs, and seamless knitting technology is a hi-tech modern knitting craft. The combination of the two can produce high quality products with both comfort and fashion. Seamless knitting product has a high requirement on its appearance,so the seamless underwear is also called"body-fitting underwear". Therefore, the study on appearance performance of seamless knitting fabric made of triangle-hollow nylon has some references for application of triangle-hollow nylon, improvement of seamless technology and innovation of seamless knitting product.This paper mainly studies the triangle-hollow nylon property and appearance performance of its seamless knitting fabric. First of all, the paper tests and analyses basic characteristics of triangle-hollow nylon yarn, including linear density,moisture regain,yarn irregularity,the mechanical properties and so on. The paper then selects three kinds of nylon (triangle-hollow nylon, circle-hollow nylon and ordinary nylon), three knitting structures (weft plain, 1+1 one-sided rib, 1+3 one-sided rib) and two kinds of needle density (A and B)to set up testing program, and 18 kinds of samples were knitted by seamless knitting machine. After that, appearance performance of the seamless knitting fabric samples were tested and analyzed including fabric drapability, suppleness, wrinkle recovery, philling resistance, snagging resistance and color fastness. According to the above results, new seamless knitting product made of triangle-hollow nylon was designed and knitted.Through the experiments the following conclusions can be made : First, drapability of seamless knitting fabric made of triangle-hollow nylon are between two fabrics made of other nylon. The fabric shows good softening property especially weft plain fabric. Second, seamless knitting fabric made of triangle-hollow nylon has the smallest bending rigidity and best suppleness. Knitting structure and needle density have definite impact on it. Third, seamless knitting fabric made of triangle-hollow nylon has the best wrinkle recovery and results also show that weft-wise wrinkle recovery is better than warp-wise wrinkle recovery. Knitting structure has little impact on it. Fourth, snagging resistance of three kinds of nylon knitting fabric is all very good, and it is lightly worse in warp-wise because of concavo convex stripe in weft-wise. Fifth, there is little difference of philling resistance and color fastness among three kinds of nylon knitting fabric. Philling resistance and color fastness of the three are all very good.
